Wednesday 10th December

I love my books, desserts and tea so these are the designs that jumped out at me these past couple of days.

1. An expandable (or contractable) bookcase. With various sized spaces available so your bookcase will always be full =) I hate the look of a bare bookcase. Designed by Reinier De Jong, check out his website at reinierdejong.com.

Also by Reinier, an innovative, space-saving and awesomely cool set of coat hangers.

2. Before i run away completely from book cases. Here's another one by Isabel Schollhammer. With initially hidden boards, the bookcase splits open to allow room for more. A much more interesting way to squeeze in books than starting to pile them or shove them in the gaps between the top of the rows and the above boards.

3. Artsy meets tea? Mad Hatter tea accessories. Absolutely adorable tea sets with over-sized lids. Designed by Jorine Oosterhoff.

4. Beautiful paper cupcake wrappers. Cut with a laser to create a pristine delicate and very elegant touch to your delicious baked goods. Available at shopmodi.com from $9.50 USD for a set of 12.

And a couple of fun random things in the spirit of the season.
5. A very funny marketing campaign by JCPenny, teaching men how to stay out of or get out of 'the dog house'. Avoid the thoughtless gifts and just buy a diamond XP.
The website bewareofthedoghouse.com allows women to see men who have been put into the dog house, put someone of their choice into the dog house and see what life is like inside the dog house.

6. Biscuit and chocolate greeting cards! OMG! I just don't know what else to say... it's just completely and totally intriguing. Developed by D-BROS, a product design project formed by graphic designers in Tokyo. The cards can be found on dedeceplus.com.

family <3

Christmas is drawing closer, which has never really been a huge deal for me except this year it's different with the addition of a new little member of our extended family. Which means that this time around we have a 1st birth day to celebrate!
And what really made this blog worthy was the absolutely adorable invite.

The bling was photoshoped by my cousin. The mohawk is real as is the texta facial hair XP

eye spy

It's the beginning of a new chapter in my life. Holidays have begun and my self-projects are starting to take form. One of which is this site! I'd forgotten how fun it was to document the little pleasures of life, It really does force you to look out for precious, interesting things and tuck them away to be safely placed into preservation.
So here goes, little tid-bits that have caught my eye this week:

1. Urban Originals - i know this isn't a new phenomenon but after having a disappointing last few months, scouring every store for a decent urban originals print and wishing i had bought a first seasons one, i came across this <3

An adorable little owl pattern. The best bit is, that not only can it be adjusted into a smaller tote form but in it's original form, it can snuggly and discretely fit my precious baby (15" macbook pro XD)

2. Etsy.com - gorgeous hand crafted items or unique pieces to be bought or sold. I can't get enough of this site!

3. Growing Jewellery - An innovation by Hafsteinn Juliusson, a blend of the organic with modern day couture. Designed to bring nature closer to man.
